FCPX and MacCaption
With FCP7, you can use print to tape to dump videos on
to videotapes
using cards like AJA Kona, BlackMagic Decklink, and Matrox MXO2.
FCPX does not have this option. But there is a
solution. See closed captioning with FCPX.

DTV Lite
As of December 1, 2009, our new DTV Lite software combines all the functionalities of DTV-A (AJA KONA), DTV-B (Blackmagic DeckLink) and DTV-M (Matrox MXO2) into a single package. DTV Lite is a tailored version of DTV for those who only need to caption HD and SD videotape in Final Cut Pro 7 via their AJA KONA/IO, Blackmagic DeckLink, or Matrox MXO2 cards.
MacCaption DTV Lite is designed for you, if you use Final Cut Pro 7, need to caption HD and SD video tape, and own one of these video cards:
- AJA KONA (3, LHi, LHe, LSe) or IO HD
- Blackmagic DeckLink (HD Extreme 3, DeckLink Studio, DeckLink Studio 2, DeckLink SDI and DeckLink Optical Fiber)
- Matrox MXO2 (including LE and Rack)
Note: MXO2 HD/SD captioning works in both FCP6 and FCP7
DTV Lite has easy to use caption entry, positioning and time-stamping features, plus it lets you export captions to all HD and SD tape formats via Final Cut Pro 7 and one of the above video cards.
