Which Version is Right for Me?
MacCaption (Mac) and CaptionMaker (PC) come in many different versions. The right software for you depends on what format(s) you want to deliver with captions and/or subtitles. Pay One Price - Use Both Platforms
Whether you work with Windows, Mac, or both, we have a solution for you. When you purchase our software, you will receive a USB key that will work with both Windows and Mac. Simply download the latest version for your platform. You can even switch back and forth as much as you want with no limitations.
Encoder Versions of MacCaption & CaptionMaker - Encoding only software
The Encoder versions do not have any capability to prepare time stamped caption files from raw script. You have to get a prepared time stamped caption file from a different source (e.g. CPC *.cap, DVD *.scc, Cheetah *.cap or *.asc etc.), and then use the Encoder versions to encode captions on the video. Since 1986, when CPC developed the world’s first simultaneous closed captioning & teleprompting software, CPC has been the captioning software leader.
In 2003 CPC introduced a patented (#6,895,166) software encoder for the Mac and Windows. This eliminated the need for expensive hardware encoders, and streamlined work-flow.
In 2009-10 CPC released captioning software for the Matrox® MXO2 and AJA® KONA, cutting HD and SD captioning costs by about 50%, and streamlining work-flow even further. CPC releases an HD closed captioning solution utilizing Avid Media Composer®.
In 2011-12 CPC releases an optional add-on called Auto Time Stamp (ATS) for our post production closed captioning software. This add-on is a huge time saver for organizations who need to caption a large volume of videos for which transcripts are available. CPC also releases YouCaption™ Real-time, speech recognition based closed captioning software.
